Frequently Asked Questions

About Our Sessions

  • Is this covered by insurance?

Traditional health insurance in the United States does not typically cover OsteoStrong sessions. However, Medical Savings Accounts can be used in many cases. Also, OsteoStrong sessions are generally less expensive than most insurance co-pays.

  • How does pricing work?

We offer month-to-month memberships, as well as long term memberships. Our 6 and 12 month memberships are discounted 10% & 15%, respectively. We ask for 5 days before the beginning of a new month to cancel a monthly membership so your payment doesn't go through.

  • What if I miss a week?

We know life happens, and we're happy to reschedule appointments when the schedule allows. We do not adjust pricing if you miss a week, since we don't charge more for months with additional weeks.

  • What if I travel?

If you're going to be traveling for more than 3 weeks, we can put your account on hold. This is also true if you have a health issue, are overwhelmed with work or family or other unforeseen issues come up. Always ask us, we're here to help you get stronger and want you to get the best experience from OsteoStrong.

  • Do I have to make an appointment?

It's preferred to have an appointment, we want to make sure we have a session coach to go through with you, or if it's your first visit,  to explain how OsteoStrong works and take you through a session.

  • Do I go through sessions by myself?

We prefer to take you through your session to ensure you're in the best position and getting the most benefit from your session.

  • What can I wear?

Clients can go through a session in any attire. A skirt or dress isn't recommended, and most clients go through without shoes for a more natural experience. If you have sensitive feet, or orthotics your doctor prescribed, shoes with a low heel and less cushion are best.

Health

  • Does this replace exercise?

No. Remember, OsteoStrong strengthens your skeletal system. Your muscular strength will be unleashed once your mind senses your skeletal system is capable of handling stronger muscles.

  • If I currently workout, should I do Osteostrong?

    Yes, they work great together!

  • If so, before/after/different day?

Try and do OsteoStrong first: we use just a little ATP (your muscle's energy), where an hour long workout will drain your ATP so you won't have as much to use during your session.

  • What if I miss a week?

You'll continue the bone building process, and most clients don't lose much strength from missing a week. Sometimes, your body needs a break and you come back stronger!

  • Can I just increase my skeletal strength and bone density with weight training and other exercises?

You can improve bone density with resistance training to a degree, but science determined it takes 4.2 multiples of body weight to trigger the hip bone to regenerate. This force is difficult to safely achieve in the gym.  Box jumps would likely reach 4.2 MOB of force in the hip. Our equipment allows you to be in control of the force you exert through your skeletal system and work up to 4.2 MOB without having to jump off a box or table

  • Can I do this if I have replaced joints?

Yes, OsteoStrong can help strengthen the bone around your replaced joint. Strengthening is also great before these types of surgeries, since OsteoStrong also thickens tendons and ligaments to make joints more stable. As with all medical conditions, we encourage people to consult with their physician prior to starting sessions at OsteoStrong, or after a medical issue.

  • If I already have Osteoporosis or Osteopenia can I do OsteoStrong?

You must be cleared for exercise to participate in OsteoStrong. But many of our clients have seen improvements in their bone density as demonstrated in their DXA scans after participating in OsteoStrong.  As always, we encourage potential clients to talk to their doctor if they aren't sure if OsteoStrong is right for them.

  • How long does it take for Osteostrong to work?

Most people notice strength and balance improvements rather quickly. Bone building is a slow process and it can take approximately a year  to see changes on a DXA scan. OsteoStrong provides the trigger for your body to utilize its building blocks such as calcium, vitamin D3 and K2 and not everyone will experience the same result.

I absolutely love coming to OsteoStrong. When I first started I had a very weak wrist. Now I can push myself up from the floor with the grandchildren with no pain. I love having strong wrists! I’m in my late 50’s and I do believe that posture and agility are part of the Fountain of Youth so I plan on coming to
OsteoStrong for a long time.

I’ve been coming to OsteoStrong for over five months. I was getting close to osteopenia which concerned me, so I decided to give OsteoStrong a try. My ankle is bone on bone—I don’t have any cartilage anymore, and I have arthritis. The only fix is an ankle replacement and I’m not ready to do that yet. Since coming to OsteoStrong, I no longer have to get shots in my ankles and knees and I’ve cut down on the amount of pain medication that I take. I was able to walk five miles in Boston one day while
on vacation and I didn’t experience any pain.

After losing bone density for 8 years, after 12 months with OsteoStrong I gained 5.3% in my spine and 4.7% in both hips. I’m stronger, my balance has improved, and am confident I will continue making progress this year.
